SUMMARY:District Rocket Day
DESCRIPTION:Youth who join Cub Scouts this year will receive a rocket that they can design\, build\, and launch at Rocket Day. Youth in kindergarten through fifth grade who are interested in joining Scouting may also attend. We will help you find a pack near you and get signed up for Scouting. New Scouts can attend any Rocket Launch Day event in the council that fits their schedule. \nRegistration\nThe event is free; please RSVP so we can make sure we have an engine available for your Scout. \nRSVP \nWhat to Bring\n\nNew Scouts: Rocket that you received from your pack leader (with the Scout’s name on it). Scouts may decorate their rockets with stickers or markers\, but no additional weight should be added. View the rocket prep video.\nReturning Scouts can bring their own rocket and engine. See details below.\nAnnual Health and Medical Record (Parts A & B for all Scouting events) for every participant*\nClosed-toed shoes good for running^\n\nOptional: \n\nSnacks\nWater bottle\nCamp chair\nSunscreen\nBug spray\nExtra engine (rockets can be shot more than once if time allows)

SUMMARY:District Roundtable - Big Cypress
DESCRIPTION:Roundtable is a district monthly meeting typically held the first Thursday of the month at Sampson Elementary School (16002 Coles Crossing Dr. N\, Cypress\, TX 77429) to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers. \n  \nObjective: The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas\, information on events and training opportunities\, and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience\, unit leaders will be inspired\, motivated\, informed\, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts. \nAudience: unit leaders (Cubmasters\, Scoutmasters)\, den leaders\, assistant Scoutmasters\, merit badge counselors\, camping chairs\, volunteers that work directly with Scouts or are involved with planning activities and events for their unit. \nAgenda: district and council announcements\, program planning (pack and den meetings\, troop and patrol meetings)\, training\, networking and collaboration.
